Dirty Football Comp - November results
Hi folks,
Post your results for the dirty football matches in November in this thread.
Original details / T&C are here
Deadline for November Comp:
Please have your results in within 2 days of the last match of November (which looks to be the very last day of the month, Sunday 30th November!).
The results of November's competition will be announced on:
Thursday 4th December
in time for the first matches of December which start on 6th December (I think that's right from a quick glance at the fixtures list for my team Man Utd, if anyone sees a problem with this - ie your team is due to play earlier than Sat 6th December - let us know!)
List of current players in the competition along with a link to the ESPN site to get the info you need for your teams:
Current List of Dirty Football Players + Links To Team Fixtures/Results
Good luck!

My manager Ferguson got a 2 match ban starting on Dec 1st... it was for his behaviour in the Hull game on 1st Nov though so how do I mark this up for my score, will that be 2 lots of 'sent to the stands' in December?
Here's the info:
BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Man Utd | Ferguson given ban & fine by FA
Quote:
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been handed a two-match touchline ban and fined £10,000 after admitting a charge of improper conduct.
Ferguson, 66, came on to the pitch to remonstrate with referee Mike Dean after United beat Hull on 1 November.
The ban starts on 2 December and covers the Carling Cup game with Blackburn and the league match against Sunderland.
Ferguson's admission of the charge and previous disciplinary record were considered by the Football Association.
The Scot is allowed to talk to his players before the game and in the dressing room at half-time but during the match he must not sit in or behind the dug-out area.

I'm not sure though if it counts for this month that's why I was asking, although his infraction was on 1st Nov, his bans don't come in until December when he has 2 matches in the stands... so maybe I'll win the December one

It would make most sense to do it for when the offence was commited, it was that match, so add to Nov figures. It doesnt really matter though as long as whatever we chose now we are consistant.

The only issue is that his ban is for two matches in december during which he has to stay in the stands, so arguably he's being sent to the stands twice in december... hard for me to say though because obviously I have a vested interest!!!
I'm happy with whatever you decide.... what's the longest any manager's been banned for?! If someone got banned for 3 months then whoever had that team would be creamy for 3 months straight...! So yep maybe it's better the way you say just for the one match in which he offended.
So results need to be in around this time next week for the winner to be announced on say Thursday 4th December I think?

Two yellow cards for the filthy hatchet men of Tottenham today! I'm really enjoying this competition so far because I don't often get the chance to shout incitements to violence at the TV/radio.
Reminds me of the fictitious Crunchthorpe United fans who only appreciated one touch football "provided the one touch was delivered just below the kneecap like a steam hammer hitting an avocado..."

But it was for ONE offence and ONE offence commited in November, so 20 points added to Novembers total would make sense. Lets go with that.
Also its not over for all entries yet, some teams still have to play on Tuesday and again on Sat the 29th so a lot could change.

That's odd your team just has the four games in November, thought I spoke too soon above about the last matches of the month being played next weekend but for me and shyle anyway there are some games on next weekend.
So Globalsquare goes zooming into the lead!!
Knowing my luck even with my 20 points I won't win
Mmm lets see how many I have so far for November... 45 so far from 5 matches so 9/match with one to go.
Also with the manager being sent to the stands, I've no idea how you can check if your manager got sent to the stands apart from just being lucky... I managed to overhear something about Ferguson getting a fine on the national news I think it was, if it wasn't for that I'd never have known

Yeah I'm sorry about that, I posted the update to my count after I'd congratulated you, sounds a bit odd that last post saying congrats to you and then saying 'hah but I beat you'!

I would say getting a touchline ban is a little different to a manager getting sent to the stands during a game. However I would say that as Im on 45 points with one game to go as well What if a manager get sent to the stands and then serves a touchline ban for it, do you get 2x20 points. I would say though that I agree that it dont matter as long as consistant.

Can we make this a clean team competition instead?
I'll post my 20 points now, can't see me winning unless they go on a massacre against Arsenal.

Well I'm happy with what Andy decided even though it's not the full 2 games, I have no idea which is worse to be honest (match bans or getting sent to the stands).
There's other stuff you could include as well I suppose to spice it up, seem to be more players being pulled up for throwing stuff (back!) into the stands!! Think Gerard is being investigated for throwing something tonight?

ttony2 - you're actually in the lead from what I can see, Birmingham have had 8 yellows and 1 red, so 50 points so far this month - 10 per match on average compared to my 9?!
So could be an interesting one this weekend then, I could really do with at least a yellow just to get even.
That's a thought, wonder what would happen if two players got the same score?! Hopefully it won't come to that...

I asked about this in the main thread dude. I think we are even. If you look at the Birmingham v Charlton match Nigel Quashie was sent off for two yellows. I asked Andy if two yellows = a red and he said it did so I have 20 points for that match instead of 25 as the stats read(I think thats what it means, Im a bit pissed) but whatev | |
