Default Dirty Football Competition - Details and T&C

Dirty Football Competition
Can you pick out the dirtiest team in UK football? If so you stand to win up to £50 of 'no loss' bets on your chosen team!

Simply select a team from one of these leagues:

  • English Premier League
  • English League Championship
  • English League One

It's first come first served so please check in this thread to make sure your team hasn't already been taken.

Details
In any one month your team must have notched up the most points on average per match to be classed as the dirtiest football team for that month.
Only matches played within the leagues listed above or domestic cup matches will count towards the total.

Scoring works as follows:
For each match your chosen team plays you will get points depending on how many red/yellow cards they receive in the match.
Additionally, if your team's manager gets sent to the stands for bad behaviour, you get a bumper bonus!

The points awarded for each type of bad behaviour are as follows:

Code:
Description Points
Yellow Card 5
Red Card 10
Manager Sent To The Stands	20
Example:
Your team plays a match and receives one red card, two yellow cards and the manager gets sent to the stands.
You will get 1x10 + 2x5 + 20 == 10 + 10 + 20 == 40 points for this match.

Prizes:
The winner each month will get a £10 'no loss' bet on their chosen team for every match they play in the following month - league and cup games only up to a maximum of 5 'no loss' bets per month.

There will be a new thread started each month where entrants can post their team's average total per match for the month.
Each entrant must post their results within three days of the last qualifying match of a month to be included in the competition for that month.

Terms & Conditions:
  1. This competition is only open to active members of TheGamblersUnderground who have made 5 or more posts in the month.
  2. Only one entry per active member of the forum.
  3. Qualifying matches include all English Premier League, English League Championship, English League One and all UK cup matches only. Overseas fixtures do not count.
  4. The competition will include all qualifying matches played within a single month - ie between and including the first and last days of a given month.
  5. Points are awarded for bad behaviour as follows: 5 points for a yellow card, 10 points for a red card and 20 points if the manager of your team is sent to the stands.
  6. If a player gets a red card, their yellow cards leading up to that red will not be included in the total. (added 03/12/08)
  7. Results must be submitted within 2-3 days of the last match of any given month. Results submitted after this time will not be accepted.
  8. The winner of the competition each month will be the person whose team scores the highest points total on average per match in a given month.
  9. The winner will be announced within 3-5 days of the last match of any given month.
  10. The prize is a £10 'no loss' bet on up to 5 matches in which your team is playing in the following month in any UK league or cup match. The winner will be informed as to the details of the 'no loss' bet at the time the prize is awarded.
  11. In the event of a draw, the winner will be determined to be the person who's team has scored the most goals in their qualifying matches for the month. (added 03/12/08)

Default Current List of Dirty Football Players

Current List of Players
This is the current list of players who've registered for the competition. New players are always welcome at any point in the competition, just choose a team that hasn't already been picked. Any games your team plays from the date your registered onwards will count towards your average total for the month.

The list below includes a link to each team's home page on the ESPN website which is ideal for finding out how many red/yellow cards your team got in each match per month. To find out whether your Manager got sent to the stands, have a search through each commentary for the games played.

Im going for Crystal Palace, purely because Warnock must be worth 20+ points alone!

I'll go for Man Utd, Ferguson could be a good bet for the stands bonus.

Marcus = Pick someone!

Everyone else, you can be (and are up to now) anyone you want as long as nobody else picked them first. You will need to post how many points your teams got at the end of each month, then i will contact the highest person who submitted, im not going through each and every team working it out!

I spend most of the weekend listening to skysports news so I'll update if I see any managers being sent to the stands. They usually comment on such events when showing the goals from the lower leagues.
