The Christmas Challenge, See how much we can all make.
Anyone want to join me in a little challenge.
We have just over 11 weeks to Christmas, and I want to see how much we can all make in that time.
We can all start at £0/$0 and I will update this every week with a league table. It should work to motivate us all. Starts Saturday.
If you want to participate, post and let me know and I'll add you to the list. Good luck to you all, and let's make some money.
You can either PM me you results for me to put on here or just do a new post. The overall winner gets full access to Topbetter inc ARBS for 6 months until the 30th June 09.
Good Luck

Oooh go on then, sounds like fun. I will have two races at once then, here and also with Evil Mickey for the $s race to $1000. I will have £ and Euro results in this one.

Count me in, although I expect to be dwarfed by some people (especially the casino baggers). £1,100 would probably be my expected total, so if I beat that I'm happy.

Hi Tom, Welcome and good luck! I will be dwarfed by some match betters on here! so i have no hope beating the casino baggers. Every bit of profit counts from midnight tonight. (Don't forget the The Gambling Times Cash back)

I'll have a go at this - I'm matched betting only though, apart from the odd no-loss top trumps game, so will also be dwarfed by the casino baggers.
Can't believe it is only 11 weeks till Xmas ...

When I see figures like £1,100 quoted (i.e. £100 a week) I wonder how!
So, is it worth not only saying how much but how it was made and, possibly more importantly, how long was spent doing it? I don't mean things like finding an arb at bookie A and therefore giving away your source.
I don't have much time because of work, family and Top Better commitments but if I'm missing out on an easy £100 a week it would be nice to know.
It'll also give ideas to people on how they can make money after completing lots of sign ups.

I don't have records of how I got by what methods, but I do very little arbing for arbings sake - but if I have to do a large WR on a site known for arbs, I won't accept any loss and will place £500 or so on each side of a dutch, which means even a tiny arb is worth £5-£10 profit underdutched. Most of my profit is from reloads, new customer offers, promotions etc, although I only bother with the "if...then..." style promotions if I can lock in a profit or qualify no loss, as I think they're pretty poor value otherwise.
My figure is just based off an average of £100 a week over the last few months, so it may not go to plan. I expect Partybets and Gamebookers to cover at least 10% of my target with the No Lose NHL offer, and more if they have the occasional No Lose offer on NFL as well - each one is worth £10-£15 over both sites.
Time taken varies a lot, depending on what else I have to do and how much I can be bothered to look through pages of figures. Sometimes I'll sit at my computer a fair while, betting as well as doing various other things online. Other times I can't be bothered and won't do any betting unless a particularly good offer appears in my inbox. However, I do have a full time job, so that limits time available.

Are we keeping a running total after each and every reload/site in this thread? Or should it be just a summary at the end of each week? 11 weeks to X-mas = OMG!

Hi, Ok it looks like we have a few people to add to the league, its looking good. I am quite happy to update peoples amounts weekly if you want to PM me or we can all just post our own and i will update the league weekly.
You all have a headstart on me as I went away Saturday and have just got back, so I have some catching upto do. Going to join Sportingbet for the £100 free bets and see how I do there, and a few others. Will update what bookies and how i did aswell just incase anyone is interested.
Anyone can join the league up until Christmas. More the merrier.

Like what you did there Tom, as you are the first to post results, you go to first place!
Tonight I have joined Unibet, Sportingbet and have a few Wrs to work through, also some pending cashback to add to my results. Will put these up ASAP.

Hi Smk77, Im glad you have decided to play.
Ok everyone, SMK77 has come up with an idea, to make the challenge bit more interesting. The first 10 on the list (excluding SMK77!) will get free access to the full Top Better package including arbs! However, each week one person will lose their access to Top Better if they fail to meet the weekly criteria (full details to be revealed). The person who is left with access at the end of the challenge will keep their full access for a further 6 months!
Sounds good to me.

I have created a number of rules that will determine who will lose their access to Top Better. One rule will be applied each week.
1. Highest profit so far who still has access to Top Better
2. lowest profit so far who still has access to Top Better
3. Highest profit this week who still has access to Top Better
4. lowest profit this week who still has access to Top Better
5. The person with the lowest pence in their weekly profit who still has access to Top Better
6. The person with the highest pence in their weekly profit who still has access to Top Better
7. Highest profit so far who still has access to Top Better
8. lowest profit so far who still has access to Top Better
9. Highest profit this week who still has access to Top Better
10. lowest profit this week who still has access to Top Better
Rules 7 to 10 are duplicates so please make some suggestions for other rules.
The rule for the week is determined by the number of goals score in the premiership (that's just saturday and sunday games - not monday).
So, in the first week, if 14 goals are scored we forget about the first 10 goals and start again. This means 4 goals. The person with the "lowest profit this week who still has access to Top Better" will lose their access. That would mean Andy would lose his full access! ;-)
In the 2nd week, if 22 goals are scored we disregard 20 goals so it'll be 2 goals. The person with the "lowest profit so far who still has access to Top Better will lose their access. That would mean Jono258 would lose his full access as Andy has already lost his.
Jono, can you give a deadline for the weekly figures to be in? We'll start with the premiership goals scored next weekend 25/26th Oct.
Dingling68, joncolebet, can you let me know your Top Better username (if you have an account!).
Clear as mud??

Good idea, but I don't think that there should be the risk of the highest profit losing out. I'm not saying this because I'm currently in first place, but because this is a challenge designed to get people to get as much as possible, so "punishing" the top earner seems counter productive.

I'm not quite following your logic with this at all smk, surely you mean the person who has the highest/lowest etc etc gets full access to topbetter for a month or something (ie arbs not just narbs)?! The way you have it now if I understand you correctly you're penalizing people for taking part in this competition which seems a bit odd. Just my two penneth.
