Default Hello, who are you and where are you from?

If you are new to TheGamblersUnderground this is a good place to say "hello" and tell us about yourself. If you have any initial questions about the forum and wont to know where to look/ask/read then let us point you in the right direction.

Hi, I'm Tom. I signed up a while ago (can't remember when) and may or may not have posted before (can't remember that either). Some of you will know me from my haunt on MSE where I spend far too much time.

Seems I'm the first person to actually post a hello in this thread since July, but you never know, I may start a trend.

How rude of me - forgot to introduce myself.

My name is Diane and I'm a matched bettor - it suits the addictive side of my nature while satisfying the "careful with money" and computer addict sides. I also like playing with spreadsheets and numbers too.

Win win all round in fact. Long may it continue, I just need to get my head round a few new concepts such as betting in euros and dutching / asian handicaps and I'll be even happier.

Bit late now, but I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Dave, I'm from up north and like Diane this lark helps out with both my addict side and careful with money side (mix of Yorkshire and Scottish blood!!).

Bit late for Andy's latest risk free bet, but as you will see I've taken many hours crafting a rather stunning avatar.

Maybe next risk free bet could be for those introducing themselves....??

Ooooh, interesting idea. You do realise that will involve supporting Norwich though, im not sure you want to go down that road...

Watch the MSE .

Anyone who read the now deleted thread on MSE from southernscouser this afternoon will have seen my post. I've spent 18 months there but quite frankly and fed up with the way threads are so off topic and the arguing. I was asked where I posted now by one user but couldn't really say because of TGU / Top Better deal I have with Andy. That would probably be seen as promoting my own site and didn't want to get into an arguement with the BGs!

Anyway, no more MSE talk!

The Sportsbook thread here is excellent and everyone is friendly. Most of the offers are posted but make sure that if an offer appears in your inbox that you post it.

tomwakefield, nice to see you on here!

Well i suppose i should really say hello aswell.

I am one of the mods on here. Im a friend of Andy's who got me into the matched betting. Although i much prefer the term professional gambler.
Have been doing this now for i dont know how long and it is my only source of income at the moment.

Im the poor guy who tests all the sites and writes all the reviews to find out if the sites are dodgy or not.

This feels like one of those groups where you have to stand up and admit you've got a problem!

Anyway, names Dean, been matched betting since March (although played bit of poker before then), reckon I'm nearly £2000 up in over 7 months, stumbled across here one day I think from a google search, Andy's was a real godsend in the early days with the extra £5 he was dangling from his rod (oo-er!!) with some of the more obscure bookies.

Have more recently tried my luck with casinos and automated bot, happy to share any experiences along the way

..................can I sit down now please?????!!!!

Hi

My names Phil and I am from Bristol .

Been match betting for about 8-9 months now and I think I am an addict.

As you can see I have included a picture of myself in my avatar.......yes I am definatly on there.

Enjoying your new site but a little worried that I read somewhere on here about having to become a Norwich City fan was mandatory...............over my dead body.

Hello to everyone that posted to date, thanks especially to Tom for reviving it as i had forgotten it existed. Also everyone should probably thank 9822aracs for having the inititive to suggest getting a freebet.

Everyone that has been so friendly can have a freebet on Norwich City FC this weekend at Bet24 (that is the one drawback of being part of the site im afraid, more often than not you end up being let down by Norwich. (You can of course lay the bet, but underlay it at least because really the idea is to want them to win)

These are run with the same T&C each time but as the purpose of the thread was for new people to say hello you probably dont know them, so they are:

Bet on the stated to team to win using match odds (usually Norwich or England)
Bet at the stated bookmaker
If you dont yet have an account there please use the link provided
Bet for stated amount (will be £25)
If the bet wins, you just keep it obviously.
If the bet loses send a screenshot of the losing bet slip/account statement and £25 will be sent to you via moneybookers.
Claims must be made and will be paid within the set timeframe.

So for this weekend:
Bet £25 on Norwich City FC to beat Barnsley at Bet24 where the current odds are 2.6 but even if the odds move still bet there and just take whatever.
Should the bet lose send a screenshot to andrew@thegamblingtimes.com with your forum username and moneybookers E-mail address.
Claims must be recieved by midnight Monday and will be paid by Tuesday evening.

Eligible people are:
tomwakefield, Giants Seat, munk, dingling68, 9822aracs, smk77, Craig, foxystoat, bristolcity, AmberPro, joncolebet

If you dont yet have an account please join through this link:
BET24.com - Sportsbetting, Casino Jackpots, Poker Tournaments, Livebetting, Greyhound Racing, Lotto and Fixed Odds Games

Cheers Andy - see, I knew I'd start a trend. Now everyone is spreading the love, and getting paid in return.

I wonder if I can make a career out of doing that...

Hi guys and gals....my name`s Craig, i`m 36 and an addict!

I`m originally a northern monkey from Leeds and a life long Leeds United supporter, I migrated south about 20 yrs ago in search of warmer weather haha...I now live in Hemel Hempstead.

I stumbled upon this place just after launching as the fellas forum and it`s been home ever since...I made a tidy profit tailing some of the guys on the american sports, its a real shame many seem to have stopped posting...would love to em all come back but hey, rjt and cracker have done an awsome job with mlb this season and some great stuff being posted from all you guys that come over from the gambling times.

As I was making a nice profit from tailing I thought i`d try and contribute and see if I could make a profit with football (soccer for our american friends) betting...made about 50 units profit last season with average of two units per play, I was up about 80 units at one point but gave some back towards the end of the season....will be very happy if I can do the same or even half again this season and maybe cut down my betting in the last three months of the season as this seems to be the hardest time to pick a winner due to meaningless games or lower teams fighting for survival.

That`s enough about me...wishing you all a very profitable year!

@Andy -cheers matey, will lay it a tad this time, I had faith in the Norwich last time and ... well you know the score.

Maybe it's time to move to Chelsea, save a bit of money on these free bets!?

<- chelsea [strikethrough]tractor[/strikethrough] scooter! (ok just a blatant excuse to use that emoticon which is by far the coolest around!)

@smk77 - How long did it take you to get limited @bet24? Get any particularly large wins?

Actually, not limited. Way back at the dawn of my matched betting career I busted out of Bet24. They wanted id but I never bothered as I'd busted out. I guess I should contact them and sort it out as they seem to have a few offers from time to time.

Ah right I see... yeah could be worth a go they seem to have the occasional OK offer on. Also you could just punt the money anyway and if you do bust it out then all good, no ID required.

Short answer = No

(A longer answer available on request by PM but the end result will be the same as the short answer)
