Default No more MG casinos for ANYONE in the USA!

I just got back from a week's holiday (with no internet access) and the first thing I saw was a bunch of e-mails saying "No more new USA players from ANY states allowed at MG casinos after Sunday Nov-9!"

Frankly I'm still in shock over this. I never expected things to get this bad.

To protect your last bit of freedom I recommend USA players act NOW; Register as many accounts as you can with MG casinos before Nov-10th – you do not have to deposit or play immediately, but registering now should allow you to play at these casinos in the future.
You can check my list of recommended USA MG casinos to join here.
(Last chance = today, Sunday Nov-9th!)

Having kept fairly normal services running for more than 2 years after the UIGEA bill was signed, I wasn’t expecting MG to follow Crypto, Playtech & others out of the US market. Where is all this going to end? Maybe the USA government will start telling their citizens where they can or can not shop, go on holiday, buy a car…? It’s unbelievable.

I think Obama has plans to legalise it again, he is a Poker player himself apparantly. The ban on it only came about because Bill Fisk (I think thats it) wanted to be President of the USA and you do that by first winning the nomintion of your party, and he wanted to appeal to the Reliagious Right and be seen as a man who got things done. He had no major issue with online gambling, nobody did really, but by banning it which was a massive shock, he got the reputation of a man who made changes and didnt mind who he pissed off. So all the idiots on that side of the political spectrum who would like to ban all abortions and teach the Bibles Genesis story of creation in Science lessons etc etc would think he will be the man for them.

As it turns out he wasnt and didnt get the nominations anyway and didnt even run to be a candidate.

The Bill will be overturned soon (2 years) if for no other reason than for the tax $s they must be missing out on. It will be populist too, more people would be pleased it comes back than displeased. Its not even illegal to gamble in the US, i mean Las Vegas!!! And State lotteries, etc etc. But you go to LasVegas and can bet your life savings in the hotel casino in the lobby, but you cant go upstairs to your room, log onto your laptop and use the hotel wireless network to play a few £1 hands of BJ at 32Red. Thats illegal. But wander back downstairs and do anything you want. Madness.

I'm not so sure about that - but I really hope you are right.
In Vegas the government gets LOADS of tax income from the players - on the internet they do not.
I can only see internet gaming being allowed again if the USA government finds some way to license certain casinos and get their hands on a slice of the pie.

Cant see the political will to do this in the USA.

The UK government wanted to attract online casinos to the UK and regulate them and hence legitimatize their operations, they offered to do this and take a small tax of 0.5% of profits - the casinos preferred to stay offshore and not take up the offer...

There is nothing to gain from online casinos for governments and hence why I think the US will not change the law.
