Started out on slots splash for first time yesterday to get a whole week in.

Got pretty lucky with Avalon I think(?), got the feature after about 30 spins and won £43+ from that, think I ended up getting another feature in the feature!? <- spot the newbie... !

Anyway a few newbie questions:

Playing 1p/line for 20 lines per spin, autoplay on for 250 spins, is this the best way to minimize variance?

Do you have to play more than one slots game to qualify or can you just stick with Avalon/one game?

Do you have to deposit £50 every day or just at the beginning of the week? Isn't obvious from the T&C although would think it'd be just one lot of £50 / week (unless you have to deposit more to make up £50 wagering in a day of course).

Is Avalon the lowest variance game?

Sorry for the newbie questions, main question / answer I was after was whether you have to deposit £50 every day since I'm just about to do today's wagering and need to know if I need to deposit another £50!

Cheers fellas.

Yes.
But make sure you note how many spins you've done if you hit the free-spins - once you hit the 'Start Spins' button the autoplay counter resets to zero!

Do you have to play more than one slots game to qualify or can you just stick with Avalon/one game?
You can stick to just one all week or play any combination of all three.
(I stick to one per day, but sometimes play deferent ones each day).

Do you have to deposit £50 every day or just at the beginning of the week? Isn't obvious from the T&C although would think it'd be just one lot of £50 / week (unless you have to deposit more to make up £50 wagering in a day of course).
According the the T&C's you should deposit every day, but I have found that just once at the beginning of the month will do. I move my money into & out of the sportsbook every day - I don't know for sure if that's entirely necessary, but I don't want to risk not doing it to find out!

Is Avalon the lowest variance game?
Probably not. That Bobs Bowling seems very low so far (it was a brand new game this month, so I don't have much history to go on). Gift Crap also seems OK now (I used to hate that game because if you make a wrong pick early on you can end up with nothing, or very little. But then again I've had 15 free-spins and won nothing on other slots, so maybe it's not so bad).

Sorry for the newbie questions, main question / answer I was after was whether you have to deposit £50 every day since I'm just about to do today's wagering and need to know if I need to deposit another £50!
Hope I was in time!

Cheers fellas.

No problem - here to help!

Thanks a lot KK, wish I'd transferred out of casino to sportsbook last night after I'd finished now! Oh well will do it now and transfer back again later in a few hours!

Cheers.

Yes re the feature resetting the autoplay, I know what you mean... when I got the feature the autoplay was reset so had to figure it out from the 'playcheck' page how far through I was.

Maybe of use to other newbies:

What I've been doing to keep track of wagering is just sticking to 1p @ 20 lines per spin (so 20p per spin) and then checking the 'playcheck' screen to see how many spins I've done (30 spins per page, so that's 8 pages + 10 lines on the 9th page if you get me!).

Also I think you can just subtract the first transaction ID number from the day's wagering on the playcheck page from the last ID number for the day... if that makes sense (probably not hehe!). Just have a browse through the Playcheck pages though (in the casino, it's on the menu).

Well... just done the £50 wagering for today and down a little on today's, -£18 I think it was.

Looked very promising to start with, got 3 scatters after the first 5 spins, came out with £12 I think it was... then got another 3 scatters just a few spins later! Not much from that one though...

Thank god these things have autoplay though, would drive me nuts having to do this manually! (sorry KK!!!)

also ended up in profit today (hit four or five features ... though all were low return money wise) so now just a few quid down overall on this promo

Sorry! I just thought of a much better way to check your spins!
(I don't use it myself because I vary my bets - but it's OK if you're flat-betting)

Somewhere in the info panel at the bottom of the slot's screen you will see a '%' or a 'Stats' button;
Click this & it will tell you how many spins you've played in that session!

Yeah man that's another way which is very useful... when it works!!! For some reason it wasn't working for me yesterday

Did find that very useful, especially on Blackjack where it gives you a full stats rundown on what hands you played and the results for the session... top marks there. Wish all casino software was as smart

What would be uber would be if they allowed you to download your stats in spreadsheet format...

hehe... I almost said in the last post above 'but there'd be no demand for it apart from me and KK'!!! Didn't know if he'd like me saying that though

I've seen KK's stats on his site yes, I thought I was quite rigorous with my accounts until then...!

Hmm.

I'm new to this, but thought I'd have a bash at Santa Paws yesterday and today, doing 20 1p lines an autoplay. Not an impressive start. Only 1 free spin so far.

So far I'm, £59.69 down.

This is depressing!

not sure if it will help cheer you up a bit but this is mine for the other/splash offer ... not hitting the feature sucks

-£29.## <- no feature
-£1.##
+£26.##
+£11.##
-£19.## <- hit feature once for a few quid

Did you get anything from the scratch card (or should i have not mentioned that either)

I will post my stats at the end of the week. Not too bad so far on SS, up £40 on the week, 3 days of Avalon and 2 days of Bob's Bowling Bonanza (BBB).

Anyone got any comment on BBB? KK what you think of it, I know you said above it seems low variance, did you manage to get enough stats to form more of an opinion on how +EV it is? 2 days is a little short to get a good opinion (I have no idea what a decent sample size is for slots!).

Avalon has been ok for me so far but it's early days.

As for Santa Paws, only done that one day so far, came out down 4.24 but got 5 from the scratchie so all good. Ended up wagering £94 by accident though, started at 1150pm and only after midnight did I think uhoh, supposed to do full £50 wagering on one calender day

Here's my stats for the week so far, won't tidy up, will post more end of week:

Code:
Date Type Start	End	Profit	Game	Mins	Wagered	Notes
17/11/2008	Slots Splash	87.50	110.20	22.70	Avalon	30	53.6	Ladbrokes Slots Splash qualifier, wager £50 per day and get £5 back in chips. Wager £50 or more every day and get double the bonus. First day... Got the feature, won £43.90 from it! Up nicely on the day.
18/11/2008	Slots Splash	50.00	36.15	-13.85	Avalon	20	54.2
19/11/2008	Slots Splash	50.00	105.10	55.10	Avalon	30	64
20/11/2008	Slots Splash	50.00	35.91	-14.09	BBBBBB	20	54.9	£50 Wagering
21/11/2008	Slots Splash	50.00	39.38	-10.62	BBB	20	51.6	£50 Wagering, 1 features +£8
Total 39.24

Yes it'd be good to get the general idea of how much EV there are from these kind of offers... on my stupidly small sample so far it looks to be around £5/day which is ace for saying you can just slap it on autoplay and go off and do something else

Looking at KK's stats above it works out not far from that over 6 months, £6/day (very roughly - £1123/6(months)/30(days)!).

This thread gets my vote for post of the month

ahhh youve got my 5 day sample to ... so its more slow than stupid example now
(im sure if we get jono and jonc to fix the next norwich game for him we can get andy to post this weeks to ... so thats three and KK's .... ive see shampoo conditioner adverts with less people polled for official results )

though 2 more days before i offer my vote lol ... looking at my worst days it could be a break even with a 4xwr to go )

If it makes you feel any better, I'm getting slaughtered on this on as well this month.
The Scratchcard promo used to be very good, but since some aliens seemed to have vaporised all the cards over £10 back in May it's been a real gamble.

Last time the Scratchcard promo was on Santa Paws (Nov 2007) - I only played 2 weeks but got 3 x £100 & 1 x£50 + several £10 cards!
Lost 43 quid playing the slot - so profit was +£367!

This month I've played it on 17 days so far; I'm £121 down on the slot (mainly because I went 7 days & over 500 spins without hitting the feature (which should hit on average about every 140-150 spins), and the free-spins I have had have been pretty poor).
I've had 7 x £10 & 5 x £5 cards = £95.
So at this point I'm £26 down, which is not sooooo bad I suppose, considering I've wagered £1,088 on the slot...

All I need is just one good feature payout over 100xBet & I'll be in the black!

KK

Thanks KK.

I'm not sure it makes me feel better, but it's comforting that I'm not the only one running at a loss! I'll give it a go for a few more days but may abandon it if it's not paying out enough to make it worth the time.

last day on the splash challenge

-29.##
-1.##
+26.##
+11.##
-19.##
-19.##
-24.##
total = -£57 and change

so looks like im starting next week 12+ quid up all going well

I did do one day on bobs bowling and one thing i noticed is from left to right on the three wheels it looks like the number of feature's gets more on the reals as its progresses ... will check this out next week and try and write the numbers on the first real down (had a crap day on it so didnt go back in the hope of getting more from avalon).... but as it only seemed to spin maybe 6 places (guesstimate) .. wondering if its worth switching to one line when the feature is no where near

I could be totally wrong on the above (some times the first reel only seemed to have one feature and some times two close together .. but im pretty sure it spins a lot less than the others)

I've only done Santa Slots, might bin it and have a go at the other one next week.
So far £62.92 down.

Partly because I've learnt that the 'stats' thing adds in free spins as well as ones that you've paid for, so no scratch card for me today. Mainly because I'm bloody unlucky. At least this is offset by the sign up offer and I'll be able to withdraw the £20 TV Advert bonus in a day or two so I'm not running at a total loss yet.

I live in the optimistic belief that tomorrow's scratch card will be worth £100.
